DevOps discussions can devolve into people, process and culture conversations. After peeling the onion for an hour many enterprise IT operations and developer personnel are still scratching their heads. Robert Reeves published a great analogy this week in The New Stack where he asks us to consider the suitcase as a DevOps metaphor.
“Regardless of what airline you fly or what hotel you stay in, if you pack your things in a suitcase, you will be able to easily move them from home to plane to hotel and back again. However, if you choose to carry around a pile of clothes and toiletries, you’re more than likely going to have a difficult (if not hilariously comical) time.”
Pack your DevOps suitcase at IC3 Sep 27 in Seattle and Oct 17-18 in San Jose.
